UDHAMPUR, MAR 11 – Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna reviewed the progress of effective implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme in the district in a meeting held at the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
Executive Engineer, Ashok Kumar Sharma gave a brief presentation about the progress of JJM and the role of different line departments for effective implementation of the scheme in the district.
The DC reviewed the sub-division wise progress of the scheme and said that JJM is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the government of India with the objective to provide 100 per cent tap water to all households. The DC directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of work to ensure that the projects are completed well in time to provide the necessary benefits to the general public.
The DC also instructed the officers to visit the rural and far flung areas of the district to get first-hand information of the progress of works under JJM scheme. The DC emphasised the need for coordination among all the line departments for better results at the grass root level.
The meeting was attended by officers of line departments related to forest clearance during the implementation of the scheme.
