DPO Kupwara reviews functioning of ICDS; inspects AWCs in Trehgam

KUPWARA –  The District Programme Officer (DPO) ICDS, Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak today visited various Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) of ICDS Project Trehgam.

During his visit, the CDPO Trehgam apprised the DPO that 278 AWCs are sanctioned and all AWCs are functional in the project having toilet facilities in 266 AWCs and Drinking water facilities in 269 AWCs.

While inspecting Anganwadi Centre, Malik Mohalla Trehgam, the DPO interacted with the ICDS beneficiaries and took stock of the Nutrition Procurement.

The DPO directed the CDPO and Supervisors to accomplish the task of Painting of AWCs on top priority so as to catch the attention of more and more children.

DPO also conducted the spot visit to land identified for construction of ICDS Complex Building Trehgam. He laid stress for holding mass awareness programmes about various schemes of the ICDS, and to ensure implementation of all Schemes in a focused way to achieve the desired results.

He also held threadbare discussion with concerned officers and staff regarding implementation of various deliverables and schemes of ICDS and received updated status and feedback from concerned.

The DPO directed all ICDS Project Officers to upgrade their working and ensure that the targets given under deliverables be achieved within the stipulated time frame. He asked them to ensure visibility of Anganwadi Centres by painting walls and register geo-tagging of all Anganwadi Centres.

Hakak asked officers to conduct community based events, Poshan Abhiyan every month and provide awareness regarding basic health principles among the stakeholders.

He also directed them to conduct Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHSND) every week.
