DC Jammu reviews progress of work on Languishing Projects

JAMMU – Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review the progress on various works taken up under the Languishing Projects scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the senior officers to regularly review the progress of work and address the bottlenecks, if any, to ensure timely completion of these projects.

Taking project wise detailed review, he inquired about physical achievements, bottlenecks, issues being faced by the executing agencies etc.

It was informed in the meeting that the majority of the projects have been completed and the rest are near completion. The concerned officers also informed the Chair regarding certain issues being faced by them in the execution of some projects.

The concerned officials from R&B informed that out of the  90 works undertaken by the department   63 have been completed at an expenditure of Rs 21185.91 lakh.

Similarly, Jal Shakti department informed that of 67 works, 24 have been completed and Rs  3190.07 lakh has been expended so far.

To address the land acquisition issues, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to take up the cases with the concerned revenue officials. He also directed the concerned to sort out the issues of past contractors for timely completion of all the projects, while adhering to the guidelines of the programme.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed on meticulous e-tendering and allotment process and called for timely uploading of bills.

DC Garg stressed upon the concerned engineers and officers to expedite the pace of work and complete all the under construction projects within the stipulated time frame. He stressed to utilize all funds in the current financial year and make prompt financial & physical progress in all projects.

CPO Yoginder Katoch besides senior officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
