DC Jammu presides over weekly Block Diwas programme at Miran Sahib

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Anshul Garg today presided over the weekly Block Diwas programme, here at Miran Sahib.

He was accompanied by ADC Jammu, Sub Divisional Magistrate R. S. Pura, besides other district officers.

The Deputy Commissioner held interaction with elected District Development Council members, Block Development Council members, Sarpanchs and locals of the area.

They apprised Deputy Commissioner of various local issues and demanded upgrading of roads, canals, water facilities, besides better power and irrigation facilities.

After listening to the issues of the locals, the DC redressed many grievances on the spot and passed a slew of directions to the concerned officers to ensure speedy distribution of Sehat cards, 100% Aadhar seeding of ration cards, beneficiaries of various schemes, disbursement of maximum KCC loan and early formulation of plans for timely execution of  the works.

The PHE department was directed to ensure adequate drinking water facilities, while Irrigation and Flood Control Department was directed to speed up canal construction works and de-silting of canals to provide better irrigation facilities to the farmers of the area.

The Revenue department was directed to organized camps   to solve issues pertaining to PMAY, updating of land records etc.

The DC also directed concerned SDM and PRIs to ensure better internet facility at village level, particularly in border areas to facilitate the local students.

The PWD department was asked to take on-the spot details of issues related to road connectivity.

Later, the DC also inspected progress of work on Ring Road project at Miran Sahib. He also inspected nearby power station and asked the staff to ensure adequate power supply to the area.
