The Directives that violate norms

With the schools set to reopen in Kashmir, the situation has turned unstable for the parents in Kashmir as many private schools have yet again forced the students to think twice before attending the schools as many orders that violate the government norms have been made by the educational intuitions. These orders have left thousands of students to lurch at large. The parents of the wards enrolled in some private schools have been asked to give no objection or consent letter before allowing their wards to enter schools. The parents said that there is no such procedure by the government, but the private schools have been torturing them by asking to submit No Objection letter. Students shall only be permitted to attend physical lessons after a NO OBJECTION/CONSENT to attend the school is provided by the parents of the student in the format attached herewith. These are among the guidelines issued by the private schools. The further directives include that it is also mandatory for students to carry a Fitness Certificate issued by a medical practitioner by all children attending school. This certificate should clearly state that the child is not suffering from any COVID-19 related symptoms and is fit and healthy. The certificate must be handed over to the teacher on duty at the entry gate. No student shall be permitted to attend physical lessons without the written consent of the parents and the Fitness Certificate. It is advised to parents to pick and drop their children on their own as no school transport will be available keeping in view the SPO’s for COVID-19. One fails to understand how the government directives are being followed in such a situation. Therefore, the government must look into the matter and ensure that anti-parent and anti-student moves are exempted forthwith.
