JAMMU, DECEMBER 28: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Home for the Aged & Infirm was held today at its premises, Ambphalla, Jammu.

Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu & Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma, was the chief guest on the occasion.

All the members paid rich tributes to Late I D. Soni, President of the Home and to the departed inmates of the Home.

Dr. Dinesh Gupta acting Secretary apprised the meeting that, in the absence of the President and the Vice President, the meeting would be chaired by the senior most Member Prem Gupta, IGP (Retd.), former president and a Patron of the Home. Thereafter, the agenda items were taken up one by one for discussion and approval.

The House unanimously confirmed theinutes of the last AGM held on 29th December, 2024, followed by the presentation and approval of the Annual Report for the financial year 2024–25. The audited accounts for the financial year 2024–25 were also presented and approved. The members further approved the budget proposals for the year 2025–26 and the appointment of Auditors on the existing terms and conditions.

The General Body unanimously confirmed the decision of the Managing Committee regarding the Life Membership and Annual Membership Fee fixed at Rs. 5,500/- and Rs. 2,000/- respectively. Approval was also accorded for establishment of a free Allopathic Dispensary and the restarting of a free Physiotherapy Centre within the Home premises in collaboration with Savitri Devi Jagiri Lal Charitable Trust, Jammu. The proposal for external and internal painting of both residential blocks of the Home preferably by some Agency under CSR was also approved.

During the election process, all the members present unanimously elected Engineer Pankaj Gupta as President and Dr. Dinesh Gupta as Secretary of the Home for the Aged & Infirm for a period of three years.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjeev Verma appreciated the commendable humanitarian services being rendered by the Home for the welfare and dignity of senior citizens. He assured continued support for such noble initiatives. He also appreciated the donors who have contributed a lot for providing all kind of basic necessities.

Pritam Chand, who dedicated 35 years of service as a Warden, was honoured with a Citation and a cheque of Rs. 11,000, presented by the Chief Guest and members of the Managing Committee, in recognition of his commendable contribution
