KARNAH, SEP 09 – Security forces recovered a substantial quantity of suspected charas from a woman during a routine security check at Sadhna Top (Karnah) around 11:15 AM on Tuesday.
The contraband was detected during frisking procedures carried out by Mahila Constables Anamika Roy and Monika Orawn of BSF at the NC Pass joint checkpoint. The accused, identified as Alaf Noor, wife of Faqeer Sheikh, resident of Khawarpara, Karnah, was found carrying the suspected narcotics in a concealed manner, pointing towards a deliberate attempt to evade detection.
Following the recovery, Case FIR No. 45/2025 was registered under Sections 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 at Police Station Karnah.
Police officials confirmed that the investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the contraband. Authorities are also probing the possibility of a larger smuggling network and potential cross-border narco-linkages.
