SRINAGAR, DEC 24 – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat to assess winter preparedness across the Kashmir Division. The CM emphasized uninterrupted delivery of essential services, focusing on snow-bound areas and critical infrastructure.
The meeting, attended by ministers, officials, and Deputy Commissioners, reviewed department-wise readiness, including snow clearance, power restoration, health services, and fuel and ration stocks.
Omar Abdullah stressed coordinated efforts, timely responses, and the establishment of control rooms in all districts to address complaints swiftly.
Key directives included prioritizing hospital access, ensuring adequate water and firewood supply, deploying snow clearance machinery, and maintaining road connectivity.
The CM also urged helicopter services for remote areas and proactive relocation of vulnerable individuals, such as pregnant women, ahead of extreme weather.
