Usman was involved in Killing of Inspector Masroor wani
SRINAGAR, NOV 02 – Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V K Birdi on Saturday said that foreign terrorist was killed in Srinagar Encounter.
IGP said that the security forces received intelligence about suspected terrorist movement in the Khaniyar locality.
“J&K Police and CRPF’s Valley QRT received information about terrorist movement in Khaniyar,” Birdi said. Acting on this tip-off, forces quickly cordoned off the area and began their search. “As the security personnel neared the suspected house, they came under gunfire,” he added.
IGP said that the slain terrorist has been identified as Usman Laskari, a member of the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who was reportedly active in the region for a long period.
Alongside his body, a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was recovered, IGP said adding that the terrorist was involved in previous attacks, including the recent killing of Inspector Masroor wani.
He said that the security forces have been highly responsible in thwarting terrorist plans in the Valley.
Srinagar operation exemplifies the commitment of security agencies to prevent further incidents and ensure safety in J&K, IGP added.
