SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 14 – In order to review the implementation of different schemes and progress achieved in Agriculture and allied sectors meant for overall development of farmers in District, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here today at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the achievements made by Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries in implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Programme(HADP) in the District.
During the meeting, the DC was given first hand appraisal by the concerned District/Sectoral Officers through PowerPoint presentations highlighting the progress made and targets achieved so far in implementation of different Centrally sponsored schemes under Agriculture and allied sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC asked the officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure the benefits of all schemes under agriculture and allied sectors are percolated to the target population. He enjoined upon them to reach out to the target population by activating field functionaries to complete the process of identification of beneficiaries in their respective zones.
The DC further asked the Officers to set a baseline for targets so that achievements are evaluated periodically for overall betterment of farm operating families in the District.
The DC laid emphasis on efficient and effective functioning of the portals designated for registration of beneficiaries to ensure proper implementation of schemes.
With regard to the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme(HADP) in the District, the DC asked the officers to give special focus on HADP. He said that the HADP initiative is a major step towards creating a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem. He said the programme aims to empower farmers with knowledge and tools that can help them enhance their productivity and profitability while also contributing to the overall growth of the agriculture sector.
The DC further said that the programme also provides a platform to the farmers to interact with experts from the Agricultural and allied Departments and seek their advice on various aspects of farming, besides enhancing agricultural productivity, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the overall economic growth.
Besides, Additional District Development Commissioner, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, the meeting was attended by General Manager DIC, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, DFO Urban, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Assistant Director Fisheries, Lead District Manager and Officers from Cooperatives, SKUAST, HP&MC, KVK, Sheep Husbandry, Sericulture.
