SRINAGAR, JULY 11 – Mader-e-Meharban Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research (MMINSR), SKIMS celebrated its 9th College Annual Day today at SKIMS Auditorium.

Annual Day is a main co-curricular event of the College and this year the focus was on” Recent Challenges Of Healthcare System, Evidence Based Practice”

Director SKIMS & EOSG, Prof. Parvaiz A. Koul who was the chief guest on the occasion underlined the importance of academic activities and said he supports all academic activities as they are beneficial in imparting the knowledge. He acknowledged the role of nursing in patient care as vital and important and said MMINSR is contributing significantly in nursing education across and outside the UT of J&K. Prof. Koul stressed on students to implement quality care and advised them to revisit the past nursing practices at SKIMS which have been exemplary and extraordinary in its performance and functioning. He further said that the SKIMS Nursing college is doing great despite challenges. He congratulated the organisers for regularly celebrating the event and deliberating on critical academic topics.

Dean Medical Faculty, Dr. Bashir A. Laway in his address applauded the organizing committee for organizing the event and said the Nursing College SKIMS started with basic diploma courses is now successfully running undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has all the facilities available. He said Nursing College SKIMS is doing well and advised students to make best use of resources and facilities and work hard to excel.

Medical Superintendent, Dr. Farooq A Jan, special guest on the occasion appreciated MMINSR faculty in imparting knowledge and training to the students who are rendering excellent services across the UT of J&K . In his address Prof. Jan urged the faculty to focus on ethics of the subject , communication skills and relationship with the patient being core of nursing education.

Principal MMNISR Prof. MuniraKachroo, welcomed the participants and highlighted the activities and achievements of college in her address. She thanked administration for constant support.

Vice Principal Mrs. Aisha Akhter & Organising Secretary of the event Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir also spoke on the occasion. They welcomed the guests and gave a detailed introduction on the theme of the event.

On the occasion meritorious students / teachers were felicitated. The event was participated by faculty SKIMS, faculty MMINSR, students and other administrative/ supportive staff of the SKIMS.
