DC Kathua reviews Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements

Asks for starting renovation works well in advance

KATHUA, FEB 21 – Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Pandey, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of the ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023.

The meeting was attended by DC State Taxes, Additional Deputy Commissioner, RTO, ACP, DPO, besides other officers.

The DC, while reviewing progress of the arrangements made for the ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, directed the concerned departments to formulate a comprehensive plan covering all amenities to be extended to Amarnath Yatris at Lakhanpur and through all the Yatra routes. He called for carrying out the preparations and other arrangements well before the commencement of the Yatra.

The DC impressed upon the stakeholder departments to submit action plans related to safe drinking water, power supply, provision of toilets, sanitation facilities, lodging and langer facilities, Traffic and security arrangements etc. He directed the departments to work in tandem to finalise the necessary arrangements at the earliest.

The DC also enjoined upon the concerned officers to keep the contingency plan ready to deal with any eventuality.

While issuing a slew of directions to PWD, NHAI & Tourism department, the DC called for ensuring logistic arrangements, installation of digital screen, hoardings and signages on Yatra routes, besides installation of information display boards at designated lodgment centres of the district.

The DIO Kathua was asked to make a cultural activity plan to be organised at identified Yatra points for the entertainment of the Yatris.
