The unauthorised and inexperienced clinics in the valley have played havoc while dealing with people’s health. There are pharmacies that are working throughout the region without possessing licences or required experience. Many of the cases have uprisen until now. Unauthorised clinics easily survive in the region and were never unveiled by the administration. It must not be forgotten that inexperienced pharmacists and chemists put the lives of people at risk. Again a young man lost his life to inadequate knowledge of a chemist who failed to diagnose the illness and prescribed him a high dose of injection that killed him instantly. The same chemist rushed him to the hospital where to his surprise the patient was declared brought dead. A mere throat infection led an innocent person to death. Restraining such local clinics from making use of any medicine the dosage of which they are not familiar is the only way the chemists can stop acting as doctors. It is not the first case that has been reported in the valley. There have been hundreds of such cases until now. The authority must intervene and seek proper investigation of chemists who act injudiciously and put communities at risk. Advisories from the department of health can also help people by allowing them to recognize when it is time for them to visit hospitals. Public awareness plays a great role in managing the health of the people. People must also take notice of their health issues and secure their lives by visiting public hospitals or authorised clinics in the time of emergency.
