What social media brought to the surface is mostly competition and rivalry; between the known and the unknown. Apart from the good it has communicated, evil still counts as greater. While social media helped many sectors to flourish in many aspects, it completely ruins the emotional aspect. The closer it brings people, the increased tensions in relations are witnessed. Although it brings animosity to people’s lives, especially youngsters, it has acquired more followers. The psyche of the people is affected. They are possessed by its presence and troubled by its absence. Those who flaunt happiness and luxury, however fake, provoke those who don’t have it to flaunt. In order to have the same they go on hunting for ways to own the same bogus comfort which oft includes illegal means of hoarding money or buying pleasure. This has also given rise to suicide among young men and women, extended drug abuse, induced hatred among them, and halted their positive attitude. Socializing never meant flaunting, abusing, or provoking others. It was meant for communication and mutual comprehension. Protecting the rights of others should have been a priority which is regretfully nobody’s concern. Factors promoting depression and distress among people include social media too. It has also led to hate crimes in societies. Using social media for the sake of socializing is agreeable but misusing it to hurt others’ dignity or sentiments should not be accepted. People must settle the social issues by themselves, particularly by broadening their mindset and not allowing others to meddle with their mental peace. People have a hold on securing their emotions that cannot be handled or sought by others.
