10-kg ovarian cyst removed from patient  in DH Handwara

HANDWARA,  DEC 08 – An ovarian cyst weighing 10 kg was surgically extracted from a woman’s abdomen at District Hospital Handwara on Wednesday, officials said.

A team of surgeons led by gynaecologist *Dr Javeed Munawer* Gynaecologist, surgically removed the ovarian cyst from woman at this health institution

As per the doctor, ” Patient  presented with 38 weeks of gestation along with huge ovarian cyst resulting  breathlessness Dr. Javed Munawer gynaecologist took the lead along with anesthetist Dr. GM Mir and Dr Reyaz , Anesthesia  technician Abdul Qayoom, Prince Imtiyaz, Surgical assistant GM Bhat, sajad and Rouf  Patient  got relieved of her symptoms  post operatively.

A doctor at DH Handwara said, women should not ignore their health and should consult a doctor immediately if any problem occurs. Like in this case, if the cyst wasn’t removed it might have converted into cancer. Operation was complex but yet successfully performed by the doctors. Condition of the patient was stable after surgery and she will be discharged in three-four days.”

Medical superintendent DH Handwara, Dr. Nisar Wani  congratulated the team that made this surgery successful. “We would expand in other fields of healthcare and remain committed for the betterment of a healthy society,” he added.
