DC Kathua reviews performance of Mining Department

Directs stakeholders to exercise due care,diligence in formulation of Mining plans

KATHUA, NOV 21 – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting  of Mining Department and other stakeholder Departments here in the conference hall of DC office complex  to review the formulation of District Mining Plan.

The District Mineral Officer Kathua informed the chair regarding the current status of mining blocks in the district and discussed at length the modalities for formulation of fresh Mining Plan.

The meeting also deliberated upon the issue of NOCs required from the concerned stakeholder departments viz Forests, RDD, Jal Shakti, PWD, Pollution Control Board etc. The DC directed them to go through the details mentioned in the draft Mining Plan concerning their department and seek clarification from the mining department in case of any query. The DC impressed upon the stakeholders to exercise diligence while issuing NOCs so as to negate any hindrances later on.

The DC directed members of the Committee  to submit their objections, if any, regarding the Revised Mining Plans or issue NOCs within a week’s time so that the mining department  can proceed further for e-auction of the mining blocks.

The DC further laid thrust on adhering to specified timelines for giving approval to new mining plans for different mining blocks of the district.

The meeting was attended by all members of the Mining Plan Approval Committee including Deputy Director (J) Geology and Mining Department (Member Secretary), Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, PWD (R&B), PDD, District Mineral Officer, DFO Kathua, Billawar, ACD Kathua and Executive Engineer, Flood Control Kathua and other concerned officers.
