DC Kathua reviews implementation of PMAGY

KATHUA, NOV 12 – Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today convened a meeting of district officers and took appraisal regarding achievements and pendency under centrally sponsored Scheme Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana. (PMAGY)

Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY), is a Government of India initiative for the empowerment of deprived sections and aims to achieve integrated development of selected villages through convergent implementation of all relevant Central and State schemes.

District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim briefed the meeting about the process of implementation in the selected 37 villages of the district with more than 50% SC population.

The DDC was apprised regarding achievements made during previous year (2021-22) under PMAGY. The DSWO informed that under the Scheme against total 175 identified works, 72 works have been completed, 38 works have been dropped, while 65 works are under progress. It was also informed that under the scheme Rs. 286.932 lakh expenditure has been incurred till date.

The DDC directed the concerned departments for speedy estimation of development works after thorough assessment of infrastructural requirements. He stressed upon the officers to work in a coordinated way so that development works were completed within stipulated time.

Chief Planning Officer Kathua, DSWO Kathua, Executive Engineer JPDCL, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department, Executive Engineer Ground Water, Block Development Officer Barnoti and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
