Block Diwas: DC Kathua listens to grievances of people at border block Marheen

KATHUA, OCT 12 – District administration Kathua today organized Weekly Block Diwas meeting at Block HQ Marheen where Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey along with a team of officers listened and resolved issues of the people.

CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, PRIs, District and Sectoral officers were also present.

The programme witnessed scores of individuals and deputations, including PRI members projecting demands and apprising the District Administration about the problems faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas.

Various issues including opening of more mandis in Border belt, restoration of old Samba-Kathua road,  crop compensation, early commissioning of Fruit Mandi at Chadwal, early release of PMAY installments, availability of public transport, up-dation of ration card data and meeting shortage of PDD ground staff was mainly highlighted by the locals.

The DC passed on spot directions to the concerned departments for ensuring the redressal of the issue highlighted by people on priority and in a time bound manner.

While addressing the gathering, the DC said the Block Diwas ensures doorstep public service delivery and redressal of the genuine grievances of the common man. He called for coordination and collaboration among the departments and PRIs to achieve desired development objectives besides timely intervention and action to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner took round of departmental stalls put up by JK Bank, Department of  Health, ICDS, Agriculture, PDD, Animal Husbandry and Social Welfare to aware people about the schemes and programmes of their respective departments.
