‘Eat Right India’: Kathua Administration organises series of events to sensitise masses

KATHUA – To raise awareness among common masses regarding ‘Eat Right for Healthy life’, the Department of Food Safety organized a ‘Walkathon’ and ‘Eat Right Mela’ here today.

Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey who was the chief guest, flagged off the walkathon from Shaheedi Chowk, which culminated at Ram Lila Ground Kathua.

The students drawn from across different government and private schools participated in the walkathon organized on the theme of ‘Eat Right India.’ After passing through main bazaar areas, the Rally culminated at RamLila Ground.

Later, an ‘Eat Right Mela’ was also organised at Ram Lila Ground which was inaugurated by ADC, Atul Gupta.

On the occasion, the ADC Kathua inspected stalls set up by different departments including Horticulture, Agriculture, ICDS, besides cooperatives Amul, Verka and others.

A Yoga training session was also conducted for the students followed by a drawing competition on the ‘Eat Right’ theme under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The ADC Kathua Atul Gupta gave away certificates and medals to the winners of the drawing competition, besides certificates were also given to the food establishments like restaurants, hotels, sweets shops for maintaining best hygiene.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Programme Officer ICDS and officers of line departments and a large number of people attended the function.
