Speaking on the occasion, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that while we are preparing for the  75th Independence Day celebrations throughout the country, Waqf Board is all set to unfurl Tricolour at all prominent locations in J&K. “The inauguration of Waqf Parking Complex cum Office Area at such a prime space in Jammu city is just another important initiative of the Board to convert all idle spaces of Waqf into productive units throughout the J&K. The work on the project will start soon and will be completed within a fixed time frame,” said Dr Darakhshan. She said that she will be touring different important sites in Jammu division for a few days to access the Waqf assets and properties at ground zero. She said that all those who have encroached upon the Waqf land and properties and are occupying the properties without any legal papers and without rent payments are asked to vacate their possession soon to avoid the embarrassment of facing an eviction drive which will be beginning soon. “We cannot allow anybody to misuse or encroach Waqf properties at any cost. Verifications of the past irregularities have begun and actions will follow, “said Waqf Board Chairperson.
