Lays foundation of Waqf Parking cum Office Complex

JAMMU – In connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today inaugurated the Parking Plaza cum Office Complex at Wazarat Road Jammu in presence of Waqf Board members Sohail Kazmi, Nawab Din , Deputy Commissioner of Jammu Anvy Lavasa, the Chief Executive Officer of Waqf Board Dr Syed Majid Jahangir & Administrator of Waqf Jammu Mudassar Iqbal. The inauguration ceremony was organised by the Waqf Board in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Reflecting the  ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ mission, the podium was painted in tricolour. This abandoned Waqf property will be converted into a modern automated multi tier parking area along with the office complexes by the J&K Waqf Board.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that while we are preparing for the  75th Independence Day celebrations throughout the country, Waqf Board is all set to unfurl Tricolour at all prominent locations in J&K. “The inauguration of Waqf Parking Complex cum Office Area at such a prime space in Jammu city is just another important initiative of the Board to convert all idle spaces of Waqf into productive units throughout the J&K. The work on the project will start soon and will be completed within a fixed time frame,” said Dr Darakhshan. She said that she will be touring different important sites in Jammu division for a few days to access the Waqf assets and properties at ground zero. She said that all those who have encroached upon the Waqf land and properties and are occupying the properties without any legal papers and without rent payments are asked to vacate their possession soon to avoid the embarrassment of facing an eviction drive which will be beginning soon. “We cannot allow anybody to misuse or encroach Waqf properties at any cost. Verifications of the past irregularities have begun and actions will follow, “said Waqf Board Chairperson.

Praising the efforts of the Waqf Board, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ms Anvy Lavasa said that inauguration of this utility project under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a big step and tells the story of change in the Waqf Board. She said that the District Administration will extend all help to the Board in executing their futuristic infrastructure projects in Jammu. She thanked the Waqf Board Chairperson for her Tiranga Campaign.

Waqf Board Members Sohail Kazmi & Nawab Din also spoke on the occasion and presented their views on the roadmap of Waqf in transforming Waqf assets into utility assets.
