Drug Abuse Day: ADDC B’pora reviews preparations

BANDIPORA – The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, M Ashraf Hakak  on Thursday  chaired a meeting of officers to review the drug abuse scenario and measures to be taken to curb the menace in the district.

The meeting discussed threadbare challenges like crack down on the peddlers, drug supply hubs, consumption hotspots, rehabilitation and various strategies to tackle drug abuse.

The meeting also discussed preparation for organising a day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking on 26th of this month.

Hakak asked the concerned departments to involve youth in skill engagements through incentive based govt. schemes in order to curb drug menace.

He also directed the Youth Services and Sports Department to engage youth and students in sports activities and District level sports competitions.

He stressed on conducting mass awareness programmes and rallies to aware general public regarding various ill effects of drugs.

The meeting was attended by District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora, DySP Hq  Shafat Mohammad, CMO Bandipora, Principal GHSS Bandipora, EO MC Bandipora and other concerned officers.
