SRINAGAR – In order to review the healthcare scenario of the District The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Friday chaired a meeting of senior health functionaries of the District here at Meeting Hall Of the DC Office Complex convened.
Besides, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Faz lul Haseeb, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Chief Medical Officer, Deputy CMO, District Health Officer, District Tuberculosis Officer, Nodal Officer Government Medical College, Block Medical Officer, Hazratbal, Zonal Medical Officers of S R Gunj, Zadibal, Khanyar & Batamaloo, District Programme Coordinator, State Health Agency, District Coordinator, CSC and other concerned.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of achievements under Health Sector Schemes, functioning of health Institutions, infrastructure upgradation and the healthcare facilities being extended to patients. The DC also reviewed progress achieved with regard to coverage under PMJAY-Ayushman Bharat Sehat cards in the District.
A threadbare discussion was held on the physical status of projects, financial implications, Healthcare achievements, Patient care facilities, enrolment under PMJAY– Ayushman Bharat, Jan Aushadhi Kendras, TB/Leprosy free Panchayat & Wards, status of online Hospital Management Information System, establishment of Health wellness centres, status of NDHM, RBSK, NPCDCS, JSY-JSSK, IMR/MMR and other related issues.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC urged upon health functionaries to come up to the expectations of the patients and focus on quality assurance, accessible, affordable health care in the District.
Regarding the achievements made under AB-PMJAY-SEHAT in the district, the DC directed the Zonal medical officers to redouble efforts to achieve 100 percent target of registration of beneficiaries under the scheme in the district.
The DC was informed that as many as 551869 Golden Cards have been issued to beneficiaries of the District so far covering 67 percent families and 61% individual beneficiaries under the scheme.
The DC also added that AB PM-JAY SEHAT Scheme is one of the most ambitious schemes launched by the Government to provide free of cost Universal Health Insurance Coverage and efforts should be made to ensure its saturation.
Stressing upon expediting works taken up for upgradation of healthcare infrastructure in the District, the DC directed the officers to monitor the pace and progress of works to ensure their timely completion for the larger benefit of the general public.
The DC also directed the concerned officers to project the issues that require intervention of the administration by paying site visits and monitoring timeliness, quality of assets besides fixing responsibilities of executing agencies.
Earlier, the CMO, Srinagar, Dr Jameel gave a detailed overview of the health scenario of Srinagar District through a PowerPoint presentation.
