“SKIMS Celebrates International Nurses Day”

SRINAGAR – The Department of Nursing Administration, Sheri-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences celebrated “International Nurses Day” to commemorate birth anniversary of “Florence Nightingale” pioneer of modern nursing. The progamme held today focused on this year’s theme “Nurses- A Voice to Lead- Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health”.

Director SKIMS & EOSG, Prof. Parvaiz A Koul, while speaking on the occasion lauded nursing workforce at SKIMS for their dedication and said their significant contribution during the pandemic is glaring example of commitment and dedication. While addressing the audience he said “In healthcare structure Nurse is important and plays a main role in managing the comforts of the patient.
He further said that Nurses should focus on their skill enhancement, impart discipline and added that SKIMS will organize “Life Support Courses” in coordination with Skill Development Department for better and efficient patient care.
Dean Medical Faculty, SKIMS, Prof. Tariq Gojwari, hailed role of nursing Administration at SKIMS and applauded them for their contribution towards patient care and said that they play pivotal role in healing the patient. He assured full support from administration.
Medical Superintendent, SKIMS, Dr. Farooq A. Jan in his address asserted that role of “Nurse” in patient care management is significant and this area of critical importance needs to be prioritized for efficient delivery in better patient care.
Incharge Nursing Superintendent, Ms Gursharan Kour welcomed the guests and thanked administration of SKIMS for continuous support.
The function was attended by HOD’s/ Heads of Sections, Principal Nursing College, Faculty SKIMS, Nursing Staff and Nursing Faculty, Administrative Heads and Students.
