DLSA Anantnag celebrates ‘World Health Day’

ANANTNAG -The District Legal Services Authority today organised two programmes on eve of World Health Day.

In one of the programmes, a Special Talk on Breast, Colorectal and cervical Cancers was presented by Dr Shabnum Bashir, Senior Consultant and Surgical Oncologist. She was the Chief Guest and Sole speaker on the topic.

Dr Shabnum engaged everyone in her talk and the audience interacted by robust participation. She held a private interaction with female students and female faculty members to train them about basic techniques of physical self assessment of cancers. She said this would benefit in early detection of cancers and remedies thereon.

The Cancer Awareness Talk was organised in collaboration with Principal Government Degree college for Women Anantnag.

A free Medical camp was also organized as a second event at ADR Centre Anantnag in the District court complex. Doctors and paramedical staff from the health department held free medical checkups, besides  Covid testing and vaccinations were also undertaken.

The programme was organised under the able guidance and chairmanship of Naseer Ahmad Dar (PDJ Anantnag) Chairman District Legal Services Authority Anantnag.  It is because of his inner desire to see that World Health Day is celebrated with fervour to ensure access to healthy living as a means of constitutional guarantee of access to Justice.

The programme was attended by Principal Government Medical CollegeAnantnag Mr Tariq Qureshi, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Anantnag Mir Wajahat, Vice principal Government Degree College Women Anantnag, faculty members, Under Secretary Legal Services Authority and staff members and students of GDC Women’s Anantnag.

Mementos and bouquets were presented to the distinguished guests. On the conclusion of the programme, Secretary District legal Services Authority Anantnag Mir Wajahat presented vote of thanks.
