SRINAGAR – PDP Sarpanch who was shot at and critically injured in a militant attack in Khonmoh area of Srinagar succumbed to the injuries, officials said.
“He succumbed to the injuries,” Medical Superintendent of the SMHS hospital said.
“He had 1-2 bullets in his chest and was immediately operated upon. However he succumbed to the wounds,” the Medical Superintendent added.
Earlier suspected militants fired upon the Sarpanch of PDP Sameer Ahmad Bhat at Khonmoh. He was shifted in injured condition to SMHS hospital and in the meanwhile entire area of cordoned off by police and army. However when this report was filed, no arrest had culminated.
A police officer said that a case has been registered and further investigations taken up.
