J&K Reports 1966 Fresh Covid-19 cases, 5 Deaths

SRINAGAR – Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday reported 1966 fresh coronavirus positive cases, 271 more than the previous day’s tally, while five persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They said 889 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 1077 from Kashmir Division, taking the overall tally to 350167.

There was five deaths, three from Kashmir Valley and two from Jammu division, due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4552 persons—2213 in Jammu and 2338 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said.

Giving district wise details of the fresh cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported 416, Baramulla 311, Budgam 159, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 26, Anantnag 39, Bandipora 53, Ganderbal 7, Kulgam 52, Shopian 2, Jammu 434, Udhampur 136, Rajouri 55, Doda 21, Kathua 49, Samba 36, Kishtwar 19, Poonch 26, Ramban 6 and Reasi 107.

In last 24 hours, they said, 271 patients—115 from Jammu and 118 from Kashmir recovered. So far 337683 have recovered, leaving active case tally at 7932— 4082 in Jammu and 3850 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

They also informed that 61,967 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
