DC Srinagar conducts whirlwind tour of City areas

Inspects developmental works on Noor Jehan Bridge, STP Eidgah, NH-service road

SRINAGAR – The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today undertook whirlwind tour of various City areas to inspect pace of ongoing developmental works being carried out for construction of Noor Jehan Bridge at Qamarwari, 60 MLD In-fall Pumping Station/Swerage Treatment Plant (STP) Eidgah and  Service road on NH-44 at Panthachowk.

Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Tehsildar Panthachowk and other concerned Officers, the DDC inspected Panthachowk, Qamarwari, Eidgah, Ali Jan Road and other areas and inspected physical progress of developmental works.

While inspecting the pace of work on prestigious project of 127-meter-long Noor Jehan Bridge at Qammarwari over River Jhelum being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore, the DDC instructed the concerned executing agency to work in double shifts to ensure timely completion of the bridge so that people of the area are benefitted.

The DDC also instructed the concerned officers to take measures to remove all bottlenecks and other encroachments if any in the project.

He also visited Ali Jan Road and inspected the works under taken for 60 MLD In-fall Pumping Station being carried out by NBCC under Comprehensive Sewerage in Zone 3rd of Greater Srinagar.

The DC directed the concerned implementing agency to speed up the pace of work and complete the project by December 2021 so that sewerage system in Srinagar is further improved. He said about 17000 households of surrounding areas of Eidgah Srinagar will be connected with the Station and will cater the major areas in the district.

Earlier, while reviewing the pace of work being carried out for service road on NH-44 at Pantha chowk, the DDC directed the concerned to remove all bottlenecks in the project and ensure timely completion of the work to improve the regulation of traffic movement over national highway.

During the visit, the DDC was accompanied by officers of R&B, NBCC and other concerned departments.
