On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the concerned Officers to cover all left out Farmers under the Scheme to ensure 100 percent beneficiaries are covered under the scheme so that they are entitled to the benefits of the KCC.
The DC said that departmental coordination is imperative for achieving the desired results of benefitting the common Farmers in the District.
He directed for holding joint Awareness cum Registration Camps by Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and other line Departments to ensure that all uncovered eligible Farmers/ beneficiaries are enrolled for having KCC.
The DC also instructed all City Tehsildars to activate their field staff in coordination with the line departments to mobilise the target population for cent percent saturation and set one week’s deadline for completing the target.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed on all the line departments to prepare brochures regarding the scheme highlighting the aims and objectives of KCC, besides showcasing the list of registered farmers in different allied sectors.
The DC also asked the Bank authorities to facilitate the indenting beneficiaries in a cordial approach and adopt the same modus operandi to the Farmers under different sectors while issuing Kissan Credit Cards. He also stressed that no bank branch will turn away any farmers on the ground of targets already achieved or asking to approach some other branch on any pretext.
While highlighting the objectives of KCC, the Deputy Commissioner said, the Kisan Credit Card(KCC) scheme is aimed at providing adequate and timely credit support from the banking system under a single window with flexible and simplified procedure to the farmers for their cultivation and other needs including to meet the short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, Post-harvest expenses, Produce marketing loan, Consumption requirements of farmer household, Working capital for maintenance of farm assets and activities allied to agriculture and investment credit requirement for agriculture and allied activities.
Earlier, the concerned officers apprised the DC about the registration of Farmers under different sectors and Kissan credit Cards issued so far.
Among others, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, All Tehsildars, District Panchayat Officer, Lead District Manager, besides officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and other line Departments attended the meeting.
