SRINAGAR –  The father of Apni Party President Syed Altaf Bukhari passed away on Sunday after a brief illness in a Srinagar hospital.

He was 89.

Sources said, Syed Mohdammad Iqbal Bukhari  passed away shortly before noon at SKIMS Soura.

The deceased was a prominent businessman and the chairman of FIL Industries.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Lt Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deepest condolences to Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukjhari on the sad demise of his father Syed Mohammad Iqbal Bukhari.

Taking to micro blog twitter, Sinha in his condolence message said, in this time of grief, I pray to the Almighty to bestow strength upon the family to bear this irreparable loss, the LG Sinha tweeted.

Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference (PC) President Sajad Gani Lone While expressing condolences to the bereaved family, prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to his loved ones in their hour of loss and grief.

“Heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Syed Iqbal sahib, father of Mr Altaf Bukhari. I knew Iqbal sahib as a dear friend of my late father. May Allah grant him Jannat”, he said in his condolence message.

CPI (M) Leader M Y Tarigami  expresses deep shock and grief over the demise of prominent businessman and industrialist Syed Mohammad Iqbal Bukhari.

In a statement, Tarigami said Iqbal Bukhari was widely known and respected among the people irrespective of  their affiliations.

Tarigami expressed solidarity with the bereaved family especially with Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari son of the deceased. He also wished endurance for the entire family to bear this irreparable loss.
