Director RDD visits Uri

Meets BDC Chairpersons, reviews status of development works

URI – Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Thursday visited Uri in District Baramulla and chaired a meeting to review the implementation of RDD schemes and also took on spot appraisal of various works under execution.

ACD Baramulla, ACP Baramulla, Executive Engineer (REW) Baramulla, Dy. Director (Plg) RDD Kashmir, BDO Uri, Parenpilla, Noorkhah, Bijhama and Boniyar and other officers were present.

During the meeting with Officers, the status of MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works taken up under the Capex Budget (CD &Pyt Sector) were reviewed in detail in respect of five bocks of Uri, Parenpilla, Noorkhah, Bijhama and Boniyar.

It was informed that a total of 968 works have been taken up under MGNREGA in Uri, Parenpilla, Noorkhah, Bijhama and Boniyar, out of which 210 have been completed and remaining are at various stages of completion. 100% geotagging has been undertaken and an expenditure of Rs 212.21 Lakh has been incurred under MGNREGA till date. Moreover, MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders.

Furthermore, 96% target has been achieved under PMAY-G. Against the target of 75 units, till date 72 units have been completed. Similarly, construction work of two Panchayat Ghars under RGSA has been approved. Moreover, under the Capex Budget CD & Pyt Sector, out of the 25 works have been approved, out of which 17 works have been taken-up for execution and 6 are in the tendering stage.

Director, RDD Kashmir stressed on timely completion of all taken up works in these blocks and underscored the need to proactively resolve the issues of the public at the grass root level besides the general public aware about the guidelines and benefits of the RDD Schemes under implementation.

“Gram Sabhas should be regularly organized and PRIs actively involved in the developmental activities in each Panchayat”, the Director reiterated.

During the visit, Director, RDD Kashmir also interacted with the Chairperson of the Block Development Councils. Various issues were discussed and directions issued to the concerned officers to address the grievances.

Later, Director, RDD Kashmir also inspected various on-going/ completed works executed in these blocks under different schemes.
