Director RDD visits Bandipora; reviews development works

BANDIPORA – Director, Rural Development Department Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, today visited Bandipora to review development works being executed under various flagship schemes of Rural Development Department in the district.

Director convened a meeting in this regard which was attended by Project Officer Wage Employment (ACD) Bandipora, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Bandipora, District Panchayat Officer Bandipora, Executive Engineer REW Bandipora, Block Development Officers of the district and other concerned officers.

It was informed that the district has generated 1.68 lakh person days under MGNREGA till current month besides 396.93 lakh wage payment has been disbursed among job card holders. Under PMAY(G), out of 301 registered beneficiaries, 268 beneficiaries have completed construction of their houses and payment also stand released in favour of 261 beneficiaries. Under CD and Panchayat sector, out of 43 approved works, 28 have been completed and for current financial year 59 works have been approved under the said scheme.

Director exhorted upon the concerned officers to achieve the set targets under different schemes within stipulated timeframe with focus on creation of durable assets. He also asked for ensuring release of wage payment under MGNREGA within fixed timeline.

Director also stressed upon the officers to ensure enhanced coordination with PRIs besides monitoring development activities on ground. He also impressed upon the officers to install Public Information Boards at prominent places in all Panchayats so that the works under execution are displayed for information of general public.
