 SRINAGAR – The Joint Director Information, Kashmir, Inam-Ul-Haq Siddiqui, today, presided over an officers meeting here, to review the arrangements being put in place by the Information Department on the occasion of celebration of Independence Day-2021.

Inam said that the Department has an important role in this national event and directed the officers to mobilize all available resources to ensure that the arrangements to be put in place by the department are adequate and foolproof.

He asked the officers to approach district administration in case they need any kind of assistance and assured them to take up the matter with the concerned Deputy Commissioner where it will be necessary.

Earlier, the officers briefed the chair about the programmes to be presented on the occasion in their respective districts. They also demanded allocation of additional funds under the heads “Celebrations” and “Transport and Handling charges”.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the full dress rehearsal of the function is held on August 13 and the main function on August 15 every year.

The distribution of departmental publications and publication of the Independence Day brochure also came up for the discussion during the meeting.

Assistant Director Information, PR/FPO, Kashmir, Mohammad Aslam Khan; District Information Officer/Film Production Officer, Afaaq Ahmad Gadda; DIO Budgam,  Tajamul Yousuf; DIO, Shopian, Showkat Ahmad Khan; Cultural Officer, Kashmir, Tawheed Ahmad; Youth Information Officer, Sachin Bali besides representatives from DIC Bandipora, Muzaffer Ahmad and from DIC Kulgam,  Sajad Ahmad Sofi were present in the meeting.
