J&K Reports 179 Covid-19 Cases, 1 Death

Srinagar – Jammu and Kashmir reported 179 new covid-19 cases while one person succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said that 62 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and 117 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 319755.

Regarding the death due to the virus, they said, it was reported from Jammu division and none from Kashmir, taking the fatality count to 4363.

Providing the district-wide details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 59 cases, Baramulla 6, Budgam 12, Pulwama 13, Kupwara 8, Anantnag 2, Bandipora 5, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 7, Shopian 0, Jammu 13, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 10, Doda 15, Kathua 7, Samba 0, Kishtwar 9, Poonch 6, Ramban 6 and Reasi 1.

A number of these cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories of CD hospital and GMC Anantnag.

The CD cases include female (16) from Sudnara, female (25) from Ladhoo, male (70) from Kargil, male (45) from Srinagar, male (40) from Batmaloo, male (30) from Nawakadal, female (40) from Ramban, male (65) from Budgam, male (32) from Prichoo Pul, female (34) from Rahmoo Pul, male (55) from Tahab Pul, male (50) from Reshipora Pul, two males (14, 13) from Kahlil, male (12) from Dadsara, male (75) from Chatrigam, female (19) from Midoora, male (33) from Lal Bazar, three females (60, 62, 62) from NA, male (40) from DC Office Srg, female (40) from Kralgund Kup, female (43) from Habakadal Srg, female (20) from Khanyar, female (37) from Indranagar, female (65) from Nowshera, female (27) from Hajan, female (32) from Bemina, male (35) from Pattan, male (11) from Nigeen, two females (43, 13) from Buchpora, female (18) from Elahibagh, female (19) and two males (65, 25) from Batpora, female (40) from Shalimar, two females (48, 29) from Zakura, female (70) from Nowshera, two females (38, NA) from Elahibagh, male (48) from Makhdoom Sahib, female (54) from Lal Bazar and male (17) from Nowhatta.

The GMC Anantnag cases include female (28) from Panchalthan Shings, female (30) from Tashloo, female (33) and male (34) from Arwani Bij, male (30) from Shurath, male (29) from Marhama, male (36) from Hadigam, female (55) from Yamrach, male (37) from Srinagar, male (40) from Nambal Mattan, female (26) from Sheikhgund and two males (60,55 ) from Reasi Jammu.

Moreover, they said, 277 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—113 from Jammu Division and 164 from Kashmir Valley. So far 313375 people have recovered while 4363 others have succumbed to the virus, leaving active cases at 2017 in J&K—830 in Jammu and 1187 in the Valley.

There was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today and thus the cumulative number of confirmed cases increases to 33 in J&K, the officials added.
