Department of Posts, J&K Circle will be commemorating the 7th International Day of Yoga-2021 by issuing Special Cancellation Stamp on 21st June 2021. This Special Cancellation stamp will be with a pictorial design and will be issued in all 8 Head Post Offices in the Jammu & Kashmir UT and 1 Head Post Office in Ladakh UT.
All the Head Post Office will put this Special Cancellation on all mail booked in these Head Post Offices on 21.06.2021. The Special Cancellation Stamp will be an inked marking or impression with a graphical design with International Day of Yoga 2021written in both Hindi and English languages
Over the years, the passion for stamp collection has seen a decline and to revive this hobby or art, Department of Posts runs a scheme for philatelists. They can avail stamps for collection at Philatelic Bureaus and counters in designated Post Offices. One can easily open a Philately Deposit Account in any Head Post Office by depositing Rs 200/- and get items like Stamps & Special Covers. In J&K Postal Circle, the Philatelic Bureaus are located at Srinagar GPO, Gandhinagar HO and Leh HO.
This year considering the COVID-19 pandemic led situation, most of the events of Department of Posts, J&K Postal Circle will take place virtually, promoting the main theme of this year “Be with Yoga, be at home.”
