JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and concerned officers to review the progress on the formulation of Detailed Project Report(s) (DPR) for the Medical Oxygen Generation plants proposed for the government hospitals across Jammu division under JKERA, PM cares/ GoI allotments.
Pertinently, the government has approved several medical oxygen generation plants to further strengthen the public health facilities in Jammu and Kashmir and ensure that each hospital has a captive oxygen generation facility.
The in-house captive oxygen generation facility will address the day to day medical oxygen needs in government health care institutions across the division.
Apart from 46 oxygen generation plants that already stand sanctioned to MED and are under various stages of execution; a total of 19 plants having cumulative capacity of 18,100 lpm have been sanctioned under PM-Cares/GoI allotment & additional 15 plants having total capacity of 5,500 lpm have been sanctioned for various SDH/CHC of Jammu division under Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project through J&K ERA.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the DCs and concerned engineers to prepare the DPRs for various components including civil works, provisions of power supply/ Power back up, Plant Rooms, Manifolds, Medical Gas pipeline system, etc. He instructed the concerned engineers to prepare DPRs for optimal utilization of existing OGPs and their augmentation.
The Div Com reviewed the progress in each district and the concerned DCs apprised him about the status on the preparation of the same. He also took a detailed review of each existing OGP installation.
The Div Com stressed that the exercise should be completed on priority and in the shortest possible time.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Sharma; Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma; Chief Engineers of JPDCL, PWD, Director ERA, Administrator GMC &AH, SE Mechanical Engineering Department and other concerned officers while all Deputy Commissioners alongwith CMOs, MS, Engineers of concerned departments attended the meeting through video conferencing.
