Div Com Jammu visits Mandi -Poonch

POONCH: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer on Thursday visited Mandi – Poonch and inspected the progress on developmental projects being executed there.

He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet; Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinod Kumar; Chief Executive Officer, Poonch Development Authority, Dr Mohammad Tanvir; Executive Engineer PWD, Pervaiz Ahmed besides other concerned officers.

The projects inspected included landscaping and beautification of the Tourist Reception Centre, PSC Mandi Bridge, OPD Complex at Community Health Centre Mandi, Oxygen generation plant and Government polytechnic building at Sathra.

During his visit to the Tourist Reception Centre, the Div Com was apprised that the Cost of the project is Rs 1.42 crore.

The Div Com asked Deputy Commissioner Poonch to hold a meeting with the Baba Budha Amarnath Committee members to discuss different components of the project. He also directed for completing the beautification of the TRC within the shortest possible time.

At the PSC Bridge at Mandi, it was informed that the 80 meter Bride project being constructed by Jammu Kashmir Project development Corporation (JKPCC) has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.82 crore with March 2022 set as deadline for completion. However, the JKPCC is confident to complete the construction well ahead of the deadline.

At the OPD Complex being constructed at CHC Mandi, the concerned Engineers informed that against the sanctioned cost of Rs. 1.90 crore, an expenditure of Rs. 1.30 crore has been incurred till date with only partition work of the building pending.

While reviewing the progress on the Oxygen generation plant, the Div Com was apprised that the 200 Litre Per Min (LPM) capacity Oxygen concentrator plant being established under PM Care Fund.

It was further apprised that the civil and power work on the project is in progress and on its completion the Oxygen Generation Plant will help in augmenting the oxygen aided bed capacity for the treatment of Covid-19 positive patients.

The Div Com asked the executing agency to speed up the pace of the project to complete for its early commissioning and to meet the Oxygen supply need.

At the Government Polytechnic building being constructed at Sathra, the concerned officer informed that the project is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 16 crore, while Rs. 4.50 crore has been incurred till date. The Div Com directed the Executive Engineer PWD to start work on the approach road also.

The Deputy Commissioner was asked to get the estimation done by DMO for connecting with the Quarry at the site of the Project.

The Div Com asked the concerned executing agency to ensure that the work on the developmental projects is completed within the set deadlines to provide necessary benefits to the common masses.

The Div Com also directed the concerned officers to adhere to quality parameters. He also warned the contractor of strict action in case of missing the deadline.

Meanwhile, the Div Com also paid a visit to the District Hospital Poonch and reviewed the health care facilities being provided to the patients and the arrangements being put in place for the management and control of COVID 19 infection in the district.

The Div Com enjoined upon the Hospital Administration to focus on quality assurance, access, affordable health care so that satisfaction level among the public is enhanced and people repose faith in the public health system.

The Div Com also directed the Health Authorities to ensure that the Covid SOPs are followed by the patients and the medical staff in the hospital to avoid the risk.
