Srinagar: A senior KAS officer, who was presently posted as Special Secretary Finance department in Jammu and Kashmir, died of COVID-19 at GMC Hospital in Jammu on Saturday.
Family members confirmed to News Agency that the 54-year-officer officer, Dr Shameem Ahmad Wani, a resident of Ahmadnagar Srinagar died of COVID-19 on Saturday at Govt Medical College Hospital in Jammu.
They said that the officer was admitted at GMC hospital following he tested positive for the deadly virus.
An Official said that the body will be handed over to family after conduct of necessary formalities.
Meanwhile Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, expressed profound grief over the sad demise of senior KAS officerMrShamim Ahmad Wani, who passed away this morning at Government Medical College & Hospital, Jammu due to COVID complications.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family members of the officer, Chief Secretary prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to near and dear ones to bear this irreparable loss.
