RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today reviewed the functioning of the ICDS and Social Welfare Department here a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Conference Hall of the DC office Complex.
Among the others, Programme Officer ICDS, Kartar Singh; District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and CDPOs attended the meeting.
A discussion concerning the status of pension cases, ration distribution among the Anganwadi centres, activities to be undertaken for the successful implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act and other points was held threadbare in the meeting.
While speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officer from the Social Welfare Department to verify the genuineness of all the pension cases in the district and submit the report in this connection within two weeks and take the assistance of the Lokmitra in this regard.
Deputy Commissioner also directed the social welfare officer to submit the list of the fresh pension cases by 22nd May this year so that the same can be forwarded to the concerned authorities at the earliest for necessary action at their end.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the CDPOs to expedite the process of procurement of ration for all the panchayats in their respective jurisdictions within the shortest possible time.
Regarding the proper implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act in the district, the Deputy Commissioner said there is a need to generate mass awareness among the masses especially the students about the Act, CWCs through conferences, Seminars and by way of other means so that the targeted groups can be sensitized.
It is pertinent to mention here that the issue of pendency of pension cases was raised during the DISHA meeting chaired by Hon’ble MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that no Government employees shall employ the domestic Servants below the Age of 14 yrs. He also directed them to conduct a survey in the areas of their respective jurisdictions for the children below the age of 14 years working in the homes of the Government officials and submit the necessary report in this regard at the earliest.
