The teachers, considered as the pious job, are not getting proper respect and appreciation by the private schools across the Valley as the exploitation by these schools are going unabated while the concerned authorities have failed to act tough against the concerned private schools to ensure an end to the sufferings. One fails to understand why the administration is acting as mute spectator about the meager salary of the teachers, who have been facing immense hardships and cannot even manage to bear their own monthly expenses with the salary. The educational institutions have always mentioned the hardships of their staff in the press statements, but on ground failed to take care of them and ensure reasonable salaries to them. The association has always dodged the questions posed to them about the meager salaries being given to the teachers of private school teachers. The work done by the teachers even during the ongoing COVID-19 and amid the slow mobile internet speed has been neglected by the school administrations as the meager amount continues to remain the order of the day by the institutes to them. There has been no talk and official intervention in this regard, thus allowing the private schools to exploit the teachers, who are working in different educational institutions. In today’s press release, the association has mentioned that employment of 67000 staff is under threat while lakhs of students will be deprived of quality education. However, the association should ponder if a private teacher stops working in their institutes then there will be no one to ensure quality education. The concerned department must not act as mute spectator and should break its silence as there is a need to act tough against the schools who are exploiting the teachers. The concerned department must ensure that a justified salary is fixed for the private teachers, so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
