THANAMANDI: young girl got killed and eight other were injured when a sumo skidded off the road and rolled down in a slope in thanna mandi of rajouri district.The sumo bearing registration number JK11-9709 was on way to Darra from Thanamandi when it met with an accident near Old thanna mandi and the vehicle rolled several meters down the slope.
The 12-year-old girl was identified as Shahida Kouser D/o Mohd Altaf of Village Dhoke Thanna Mandi. The Injured have been identified as Mohd Sadeeq 30, Saima Kouser 22, yasmeen kouser 22. Ab Rashid 65Mohd Makhan 70,Nusrast Akhter 18 and Shakeela Begum 35.
On recieving the news the administration led by SDM Dr Zakir Qureshi, Tehsildar Mehmood Khan alongwith SHO Fareed Ch rushed to the spot and supervised the rescue operation. The Injured were later shifted to GMC Rajouri for further treatment. Driver of the vechle ran away from the site and the police has registered a case under FIR No 50 /2021 under section 279.337.304.
