DC Udhampur appeals public to go for COVID-19 vaccination

UDHAMPUR- Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, today appealed to the general public of District Udhampur to go for vaccination.

“The vaccination is the only way forward to achieve herd immunity. This is possible only if the masses join hands to make the vaccination drive launched by the government successful”, she said, while briefing the media about the control measures being taken by the district administration.

She stressed on the need to maintain social distancing, wearing face mask and following other appropriate protocols  for preventing the spread of the Corona virus   in the District Udhampur, she added.

She said that the virus has not been completely eradicated and a caution is needed to prevent the surge. She urged the public of the District to maintain social distancing, wearing face masks, using hand sanitizer, washing hands with soap frequently for preventing the spread of the CoronaVirus.

The DC also sought cooperation of BDCs, DDCs, PRIs and the general public to motivate people to take the Covid vaccination as per notified protocol. She said that mass level sampling and RTPCR testing is also being conducted at different locations of the District. “Public should not fear in taking covid-19 tests as it is for their own interest and the larger interest of the society” the DC added.
