 210 fresh positive cases, highest this year so far this year; tally at 129,423

Srinagar: The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to rise as 210 fresh positive cases, highest in the ongoing year, were reported on Friday pushing the number of active cases near 1,681 which otherwise were less than 600 a few weeks before.

One more death was reported in last 24 hours taking toll of deaths to 1,984 in UT, and active cases continues to increase and recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 210 fresh positive cases reported on Friday pushed the tally of positive cases to 129,413.

Of the exact number of 129,413 cases, 76,827 are from Kashmir and 52,586 from Jammu division. Officials said that among 210 new cases, 169 belong to Kashmir division while as 41 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 76,827 including 74,306 recoveries and 1,252 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,586 including 51,442 recoveries and 732 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,681 including 1,269 from Kashmir division and 412 from Jammu division.

With 92 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 125,748 which is 97.16 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 98 from Srinagar, 33 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama,   02 from Kupwara, 09 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 41 from Jammu division include 30 from Jammu, 04 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 03 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 28,413 positive cases including 468 deaths and 27,178 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,616 including 178 deaths and 8,237 recoveries are from Baramulla, 8,104 including 7,862 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,948 including 5,805 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,758 including 97 deaths and 5,634 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,134 including 5,019 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,744 cases including 4,662 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,700 including 4,638 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,769 including 2,697 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,641 including 2,574 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,684 including 24,980 recoveries and 379 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,339 including 4,267 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,890 including 3,824 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,452 including 3,376 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,287 including 3,220 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,853 including 2,800 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Samba, 2,740 including 2,717 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,538 including 2,501 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,143 including 2,115 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,660 including 1,642 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,469,230 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 29,351 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,681 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,309,139 persons have completed surveillance period and 127,075 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,888,075 samples are available. Out of 5,888,075 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,758,662 while as 129,413 have tested positive, among them 1,681 persons are active, 125,748 persons have recovered and 1,984 persons have died.
