BARAMULLA, DEC 20 – In order to review the overall healthcare scenario of the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting of concerned health functionaries at her office chamber, here.

On the occasion, the DC took a detailed stock of health infrastructure in the district, status of rented buildings, manpower, rationalisation of manpower and machinery available.

Apart from this, the DC also reviewed the status of National Health schemes, Maternal and Infant death, Golden cards, universal screening under Non Communicable Diseases, Capex and District Budget besides operationalisation of new Special Newborn Care Unit, Nutrition Rehabilitation Center under Aspiration District Programme.

After taking a detailed note of the health department, Dr. Sehrish urged health functionaries to come up to the expectations of the patients and focus on providing best services and make accessible, affordable health care in the district available for the patients.

On the occasion, the DC exhorted upon all Block Medical Officers to complete targets under Golden Cards, screening of Non Communicable Diseases within a definite time frame besides directing the concerned authorities to inaugurate all the completed projects by December 31.

Moreover, the DC also directed for providing 24/7 health care facilities in all hospitals besides stressing upon punctual duties of doctors and paramedics and directed for strict adherence to duty roasters.

Joint Director Planning, M Yousuf Rather; Chief Medical Officer,  Bashir Ahmad Malik; Block Medical Officers besides other functionaries of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
