Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurates 20 advanced operation theatres at AIIMS Jammu

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 07 – Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday inaugurated a dedicated block housing 20 advanced operation theatres at AIIMS Jammu, saying the facility would strengthen specialized healthcare services and reduce patients’ dependence on hospitals outside J&K.

Describing the development as a major milestone, Singh said the institute had made significant progress in infrastructure, medical facilities and faculty strength. He also acknowledged faculty shortages in some specialities and said the issue was being taken up with the concerned authorities.

He said AIIMS Jammu would emerge as a major healthcare centre, catering not only to the Jammu region but also to neighboring states. (KINS)
