IGNOU Srinagar Releases ‘Achievements 2024-25’, Holds Induction Programme for New Students

SRINAGAR, APRIL 20 – Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre Srinagar organised an event at SKIMS Soura today to release its annual publication titled “Achievements for the Year 2024-25” and to conduct an induction meeting for students admitted in the January 2025 session.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohd Ashraf Ganie, Director, SKIMS; Prof. Naser Iqbal, Registrar, University of Kashmir; Prof. G.H. Yatoo, Head, Department of Hospital Administration, SKIMS; Dr. Zafar, Incharge, CRC Bemina; Dr. Aijaz Ashraf, Regional Director, MANUU; principals of various Government Degree Colleges; study centre coordinators; academic counsellors; staff from IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar; and students.

Speaking on the ocasion Regional Director Dr. A.H. Rizvi spoke about centre’s contributions to academic excellence, including Conducting academic counseling sessions for students, Monitoring practicals to ensure hands-on learning experiences, Successfully conducting examinations and maintaining academic integrity.

Dr. Rizvi acknowledged the contributions of the Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, Prof. Uma Kinjilal, Director (RSD) Dr. Manorma Singh, various schools and units at headquarters, study centre coordinators, part-time staff, and officials at the Regional Centre. He also mentioned the work of Dr. Abdullah, Assistant Regional Director, and Mr. Bhanwar Singh, Assistant Registrar, for their respective roles.

An induction programme for newly admitted learners was also held. Dr. Abdullah provided information regarding academic procedures, student services, and other aspects of open and distance learning at IGNOU. The meeting served as an orientation for new students to understand the structure and expectations of the university system. The event concluded with interactive sessions between students and officials.
