SRINAGAR, APRIL 19 – an atmosphere heavy with sorrow and grief, it is deeply heartbreaking to share that the beloved wife of my close friend, brother and senior video journalist and Daily Excelsior cameraman Javaid Dar passed away tomorrow after bravely battling a prolonged illness. Despite every possible effort by Javaid and the family to save her life, but in the end, it was Allah’s decision.
The departed soul was known as a noble, humble and kind-hearted woman—gracious in nature and warm in presence. Her passing has left a deep and painful void not just in her family, but in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Senior multimedia journalist and editor Aadil Bashir Dar expressed profound grief over the loss, calling it a personal tragedy beyond words.
“This is not just a loss for Javaid Dar, but a deep personal pain for me. Our families have shared over two decades of closeness and mutual respect. I am shattered by this heartbreaking news,” he said.
The news of her ultimate demise has cast a shadow of sorrow over the journalistic community. Friends, colleagues, neighbors, and members from social and political circles have extended heartfelt condolences, standing in solidarity with the grieving family in this dark hour.
Her Namaz-e-Janazah was offered on Friday night at 8:30 PM, attended by a large number of people from across Kashmir. She was laid to eternal rest at her ancestral graveyard in Tengpora Zoonimar, Srinagar, amid tears, prayers and emotional farewells.
According to family sources, a Fateh Khawani (Ijtima-e-Dua) will be held on Monday, 21 April 2025, at 9:30 AM at the ancestral graveyard.
May Allah (SWT) envelop her soul in infinite mercy, grant her the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength and sabr to the bereaved family to endure this irreparable loss.
