TANGDHAR, MARCH 26 – In a remarkable step towards environmental sustainability, Army Goodwill Higher Secondary School (AGS) Hajinar, in collaboration with 104 Infantry Brigade, organized a large-scale tree plantation drive** today. The event witnessed active participation from 293 students, 15 teachers, and members of the local community, all committed to fostering a greener future.

The initiative commenced with a pledge ceremony led by the Principal of AGS Hajinar, followed by an insightful lecture by the Vice Principal. To further engage and educate students on environmental conservation, an eco-themed skit was performed at the school’s auditorium, emphasizing the importance of afforestation. The plantation drive was officially inaugurated by Maj Shivam Oberoi, Officer In Charge (OIC) AGS Hajinar, who led the participants in planting saplings within and around the school premises.

The initiative aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and highlights the crucial role of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance and sustainability.

Speaking on the occasion, Maj Shivam Oberoi underscored the broader impact of such initiatives. “Today’s plantation drive is not just about planting trees; it is about instilling a sense of environmental responsibility in our future generations. We are immensely proud of our students and staff for taking this important step toward a sustainable future,” he remarked.

The school management extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more eco-friendly initiatives in the future. The event concluded with students taking a pledge to nurture the planted saplings and actively contribute to environmental preservation.
