Private Schools Charging Extra Fees Will Face Action: Sakina Itoo

SRINAGAR, DEC 05 – Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakeena itoo has issued a stern warning to private schools charging excessive fees from parents, stating that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, the Minister urged parents facing such issues to directly report their grievances to the Education Department or contact her office with proof.

“Nobody is above the law. Schools engaging in unfair practices will be dealt with strictly,” she asserted. The Minister also discouraged parents from airing grievances on social or electronic media, urging them to approach the department for prompt resolution.

When questioned about the upcoming winter break, Minister Itoo said winter vacation is a routine exercise. Academic calender was changed from March session to Nov-Dec, We want students to join another classes after concluding examination and winter vacation will start. Due to dry weather, cold has intensified; I guess more than Chilakalan. Moreover people can lodge compliant if any private school is fleecing then on Annual fees.

She also paid tribute to Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, describing him as a towering leader admired both in India and globally. “His visionary reforms in education, healthcare, and land rights have left a profound legacy that continues to inspire us today,” she remarked.

The Education Department has assured swift action against complaints and has encouraged parents to provide necessary documentation when reporting issues.
