Innovative Strategies Essential in Drug Fight: IGP Kashmir

SRINAGAR, DEC 05 – A two-day training programme kickstarted by IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi focusing on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was inaugurated at PCR Kashmir, organized by Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Kashmir in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu & Kashmir.

IGP Kashmir, V.K Birdi in his inaugural speech stressed the importance of stringent enforcement of the NDPS Act in combating the growing menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking. He emphasized the need for imparting specialized training to officers, which would enhance their awareness, sharpen investigative skills, and strengthen the collective efforts in the fight against the drug menace in the region. IGP Kashmir also underlined the implementation of innovative methods as well as actionable strategies to address the drug abuse in Kashmir.
